MoneyGram offers a money transfer service in more than 200 countries and territories around the world at 350,000 locations.

COVID-19 Update

MoneyGram advise customers to use the Find a Location tool on the MoneyGram website to find out if their local agents are open. This advice is for senders in Australia & New Zealand and for receivers across the Pacific.


MoneyGram encourage all customers, if possible, to send online, via the MoneyGram website or App where possible.

How to send money through MoneyGram

MoneyGram provides two ways to send money: in person and online.

Sending Money in Person

Agent locations accept cash only. To find a MoneyGram agent, use the ''Find Us'' link on the MoneyGram website.

To make it even easier to send money, the MoneyGram Agent Network includes electronic kiosks at branches of 7-Eleven in Australia, Travel Money Oz locations (temporarily closed due to COVID-19, and will soon be available at United Petroleum locations across Australia. 

How long does it take to send money in person?

MoneyGram's 10 minute money transfer gives you the ability to transfer funds to friends and family with no bank account required. In just 10 minutes* the money will be ready to collect.

*Subject to the receiving MoneyGram agent’s availability and hours of operation, and local regulations.

Sending Money Online

Visa, Mastercard, or ACH debit of a bank account are accepted when sending money online. This makes it the best way to send money for most people. (ACH debit of a bank account is not an option from New Zealand.)

How long does it take to send money online?

There are two service levels for online transfers:

Same Day Service: uses your credit or debit card and delivers funds in minutes.

Economy Service: uses your bank account and delivers funds within three business days (not available for services from New Zealand)

Fees

The fees for money transfers may vary, depending on transfer method, the amount you are sending and where you are sending it. You can check the fee and exchange rate using the cost estimator on the MoneyGram website.
