About New Zealand Aid
The New Zealand Aid Programme is the New Zealand Government’s international aid and development programme managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The New Zealand Aid Programme supports sustainable development in developing countries in order to reduce poverty and contribute to a more secure, equitable and prosperous world. Within this there is a focus on encouraging sustainable economic development. The New Zealand Aid Programme focuses on the Pacific and also has programmes in Asia, Latin America and Southern Africa.
The New Zealand Government is committed to supporting developing countries to reduce poverty and make tangible improvements in people’s lives. The position of the New Zealand Aid Programme in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade recognises that development issues are an important pillar of New Zealand’s foreign policy.
